The Downland volunteer group

The Downland volunteers provide private car transport for doctors’ appointments, hospital visits, opticians or dentist appointments and other appointments that may be required.

As well as transportation to local doctors’ surgeries they can take passengers to hospital appointments in Newbury, Reading, Oxford, Basingstoke, and Swindon.

They do not charge for the services but do ask that you make a contribution towards the drivers’ mileage costs. The level of contribution is different depending on the length of journey made.
